The Telangana High Court today directed the Judicial Registrar and the city Police Commissioner to ensure that notices were served to the Legislature Secretary over the suspension of three BJP MLAs for the entire budget session for allegedly storming the House on the first day.
BJP MLAs Raghunandan Rao, Raja Singh and Eatala Rajender, who were suspended, had originally sought a stay from the court on the suspension orders. The court however refused to intervene, and had only asked the officials to serve notices to the Assembly Secretary for details of how the BJP members were suspended in the House. However, the officials failed to serve the notices.
On a petition from the BJP about that, the High Court sought to know why the officials were not able to serve the notices, and ordered the Police Commissioner himself to ensure that the notices were served.
For the unversed, on March 7, the Speaker had suspended the three BJP MLAs for storming the podium, for the entire Budget session. The MLAs had stormed the podium in protest against the government eliminating the traditional speech by the Governor on the first day.
