The state unit of the BJP today held a dharna at Indira Park in the city.
The protest program was held condemning the decision of the Speaker of the state Assembly Pocharam Srinivas Reddy to suspend all the three BJP MLAs from the entire budget session of the House recently.
The protest was called Democracy Protection Program.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA M Raghunandan Rao said that the three MLAs including him were suspended from the house merely for questioning the decision of the state government about holding the budget session without the address of the Governor.
He added that the Speaker did not withdraw the suspensions even after being shown the verdict of the Telangana High Court, showing that the TRS was just working with an ulterior motive - it suspended them as they could have proved that all the claims of the State government were wrong.
He said that the people of the state would soon teach a lesson to CM K Chandrashekar Rao, and that political strategists like Prashant Kishor could not save the TRS from the wrath of the people.
He also alleged that the TRS and the Congress had joined hands in the state, and that the mutual praise of each other by KCR and CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka was evidence of the same.
He said that any vote for the Congress would be a vote for the TRS.
Another MLA Eatala Rajender said that the party was organising the dharna primarily to protest against the "dictatorial" practices of KCR, but also to protest the demand of KCR to change the Indian Constitution.
BJLP leader Raja Singh said that Union Home Minister Amit Shah was sending bulldozers to the state to end the TRS rule, and that each Assembly constituency of the state would have a bulldozer very soon. He predicted that his party would form the government in Telangana after the next Assembly elections.
He also claimed that the ruling party and its leaders could not scare the BJP leaders or activists by filing criminal cases against them.
