The Telangana High Court today issued notices to the secretary of the state legislature on the issue of the suspension of the MLAs of the BJP by Assembly Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy.
The HC passed the orders after hearing a petition filed by the three MLAs challenging their suspension by the Speaker.
Arguing the case on behalf of the BJP MLAs, Prakash Reddy said that the state government had suspended the MLAs without following the existing rules of the Assembly, and by violating the Indian Constitution and the Assembly rules.
He also said that the Legislature Secretary was not giving a copy of the proceedings of the suspension.
Arguing the case on behalf of the state government, Advocate General B S Prasad told the HC that no court should interfere in issues related to the Assembly.
The HC later adjourned the matter to Thursday for further hearing.
