Government Urges Farmers To Take Up Oil Palm Cultivation
Minister for Agriculture S Niranjan Reddy asked the farmers to avail themselves of the incentives being offered by the government to cultivate oil palm.
Telangana Minister for Agriculture Singireddy Niranjan Reddy today said that the State government was offering various incentives to farmers for the cultivation of oil palm in the State, and asked the farmers' community to avail themselves of the facility to earn a decent income.
Reddy visited an agricultural farmhouse owned by Panchayat Raj Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao at Parvathagiri in Warangal district upon the latter's invitation, and witnessed oil palm cultivation in the farmhouse.
Speaking on the occasion, Reddy said that there was a huge demand for palm oil across the globe, and that the farmers could earn a decent income by cultivating oil palm.
Earlier in the day, Reddy along with Rao inaugurated a new 10,000 MT capacity godown at Chalaparthy village of Duggondi mandal in the district.
On the occasion, the minister said that the BRS government had increased the State's warehouse capacity from 36 lakh metric tonnes to 74 lakh metric tonnes over the past nine years.
