Agriculture minister S Niranjan Reddy and many of his cabinet colleagues today welcomed the decision of the Centre to repeal the three new farm laws introduced in 2020.
He attributed the decision by the Modi government to the Maha Dharna held by the Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.
Addressing a press conference at Telangana Bhavan with minister Jagadish Reddy, and MLAs Balka Suman and Srinivas Reddy, the minister appreciated the prolonged battle by the farmers against the BJP government in the country, and said that the credit for the victory of the farmers went to their party boss, as just yesterday the KCR government had announced its support to the protesting north-Indian farmers.
The minister demanded that the Centre now address the issues of the farmers in Telangana and other states, too.
Other ministers including Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Jagadish Reddy, Dayakar Rao and Satyavathi Rathod, and Rythu Bandhu Samithi chief Palla Rajeshwar Reddy too hailed the repeal of the laws, and attributed it to KCR's "revolt" and Maha Dharna.
