Former minister and BJP leader Enugala Peddi Reddy resigned from the saffron party today.
Reddy, who had been disgruntled with the party high command's decision to allow his political rival, former minister Etala Rajender, to join the BJP's ranks, vented his anger over the matter in public, a couple of days back. He had also warned the high command that he would even take an extreme decision if that was what was required for him to express his anger.
The leader has been lying low after Rajender's entry into the party, and has avoided attending all its major meetings since then.
Though he has resigned, he has not yet revealed anything about his political future. However, the political circles in the state are already filled with the reports that Reddy will likely join the Congress soon.
His resignation comes days after another senior party leader Motkupalli Narasimhulu
left the BJP.
Reports say that in his resignation letter to state BJP chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar, the leader had stated that he was leaving the party as it had failed to give him the recognition he felt he deserved.
Both leaders were formerly associated with the TDP. After having held influential posts in the past, they were rather unsure about their political futures in the BJP. It is being said that they were dissatisfied that the party was not valuing them for their political experience and acumen.
They had thought that the BJP would allow them to hold higher posts in the run-up to the 2023 Assembly elections as the party has been trying to establish itself in Telangana.
