Former Minister and senior BJP leader Motkupalli Narasimhulu today gave his party a rude shock when he resigned from the party. Reports say that in his resignation letter to state BJP chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar, the leader stated that he was leaving the party as it had failed to give him the recognition he felt he deserved.
Though he has just left the saffron party, whispers that he will likely join the TRS in the presence of party supremo and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao very soon are already doing the rounds. What added fuel to the fire was the fact that he attended a meeting held by KCR at the Pragathi Bhavan on the implementation of the Dalit Bandhu scheme.
On the occasion, Narasimhulu lauded the scheme which reportedly left the BJP high command furious.
While there is currently no clarity over the post he will be given by the pink party after joining, sources suggest that he will be offered the post of either MLC or MP.
Before joining the BJP, Narasimhulu had earlier been a member of the TDP since its inception in 1982. He joined the BJP only in 2019 after being expelled from the TDP for making allegations against the party's leadership.
He had represented the Alair constituency, of erstwhile Nalgonda district in undivided Andhra Pradesh, between 1983 and 2004 and had also served as Social Welfare and Tourism Minister in the NTR cabinet. In 2009, he became the Tungaturti MLA.
