DGP, DH Submit Report To HC On New Year Crime
The DGP and Director of Health of the state told the court that 907 cases had been booked during the New Year celebrations to punish Covid guideline violations.

The DGP and Director of Health of the state, M Mahender Reddy and Dr Srinivasa Rao respectively, submitted their reports before the Telangana High Court today explaining the steps initiated during the New Year celebrations to curb and punish Covid guideline violations.
They told the court that 907 cases had been booked during the New Year celebrations.
The DGP said that of the 907 cases, 263 were related to the breaching of the time limits set for celebration, and the remaining 644 were related to public nuisance.
He told the court that the department was imposing fines on those who did not wear face masks, and that it had imposed fines of Rs 5,10,837 on 16,430 violaters between December 24, 2021, and January 2, 2022.
He said that the force had also banned public meetings and rallies till the 10th of this month.
After going through the report, the HC adjourned the case to the 7th of this month.
