In a major setback to former Kodangal MLA and BRS leader Patnam Narender Reddy, the Telangana High Court today extended his judicial remand once again, till December 11, in the Lagacherla attack case.
The 14-day judicial remand of Reddy ended on Wednesday, and he was produced before the court through video conferencing by the police. The court extended his remand by another 14 days.
The arguments on the custody of Reddy have already concluded, and the court has reserved its verdict on the petition.
It may be noted that Vikarabad district Collector Prateek Jain was attacked in Lagacherla village. There were allegations that BRS leaders were behind the attack. However, BRS leaders have accused the Congress of hatching a conspiracy against them.
During their investigation, the police found that one of the accused involved in the attack had spoken with Narender Reddy on the phone multiple times. Reddy has subsequently arrested in connection with the case - he was detained while he was on a morning walk at KBR Park in Hyderabad. He is currently lodged in the Cherlapally jail.
