DCA Raids Quack, Seizes Drugs At Beerappagadda
The officials seized 17 types of medicines including antibiotics, steroids, antifungal drugs, analgesics and others at the premises of Banothu Srinu.

Telangana Drugs Control Administration officials yesterday raided a quack's clinic at Beerappagadda, Uppal Khalsa village, Medchal-Malkajgiri district, and seized drugs stocked for sale.
The officials raided the premises of Banothu Srinu, who was practicing medicine at his Anjali Clinic without proper qualifications.
During the raid, the officials seized 17 types of medicines including antibiotics, steroids, antifungal drugs, analgesics and others worth Rs 20,500 stocked at the premises without a drug licence.
DCA officials found antibiotics including Ceftriaxone and Amoxicillin, whose indiscriminate sale by unqualified persons has disastrous consequences for the health of the public including emergence of antimicrobial resistance.
The officials also found Dexamethasone steroids, whose misuse can have serious health consequences including immune system suppression, hormonal imbalances, muscle and bone weakness, cardiovascular problems and psychological problems.
Drugs Inspectors Dr B Lakshmi Narayana (Uppal) and P Ambedkar (Medipally) carried out the raid.
