Advisor to the Telangana State government Mohammed Ali Shabbir today made serious allegations against BRS working president K T Rama Rao and his family, and called for transparency regarding KTR's involvement in the Janwada farmhouse incident where a person was arrested for alleged consumption of cocaine.
He demanded that both KTR and his brother-in-law Raj Pakala, who owns the farmhouse, undergo narcotics tests in connection with the incident.
Speaking at a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan, Shabbir said, "KTR, if you have nothing to hide, undergo a narcotics test and present the certificate to the public. Why do you always respond defensively when the topic of drugs arises? And how did illegal liquor find its way to your brother-in-law's farmhouse?"
Shabbir Ali also criticized KTR's brother-in-law for allegedly using the farmhouse as a venue for gambling, drug-related activities and other illicit operations.
The Congress leader also asked, "How did KCR's family, who once wore simple slippers, amass such significant wealth?" He called for an investigation into the family's assets, urging the government to scrutinize the properties owned by around 50 members of KCR's family.
He accused the previous BRS government of targeting opposition leaders who had brought public issues to light, and said that then-MP Revanth Reddy had been unjustly imprisoned for highlighting similar concerns. He alleged that the BRS government had even attempted to kill Reddy while the latter was on trial.
He asserted that the police raids on Pakala's Janwada farmhouse were supported by strong evidence, and assured the public that all facts related to these cases would be disclosed soon.
