Launching a sharp attack on the Congress, BRS Working President K T Rama Rao today alleged that the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) was being run by an RSS leader, Revanth Reddy.
Addressing a public meeting in Jagtial, KTR said that former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh had written a letter to Sonia Gandhi asking why an RSS leader had been made the chief of the Congress in Telangana.
"Can Revanth Reddy openly make a statement that he did not work for the RSS, and that he does not hate Muslims?" KTR asked.
"The Congress is an old fox which has failed miserably. The people gave it 11 chances, but it could not do a single good deed for any section of the society in 65 years," he alleged.
KTR reminded the audience of those days when farmers suffered due to electricity problems, and said that it was ironic to see Congress leaders talk today about power problems in the State. He added that any Congress leader who had doubts about uninterrupted power supply being given in Telangana could come and hold electricity wires for an answer.
"Revanth Reddy is also a leader who said that three hours of power supply is sufficient for the farmers in our State," KTR added.
He also asked the people to recollect the days of Congress rule when farmers were a much-harassed lot, suffering from power and water problems, inadequate supply of seeds and fertilizers, and many more issue. "Life is however diametrically opposite for the farmers under KCR's rule. No other leader loves the farmers and works for their welfare like Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao does," KTR claimed.
"As BRS leaders, we can proudly say KCR is our CM. Can the Congress tell who will be their CM?" he asked.
"If you want to see even more differences between the Congress and the BRS, just compare the Indiramma houses of the Congress and the 2BHK dignity houses of the BRS. You will get a clear picture," the BRS working president added.
KTR also said in a derisive tone that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was a god who had increased LPG cylinder prices from Rs 400 to Rs 1,200 and petrol prices from Rs 70 to Rs 110, and had ensured skyrocketing prices of other essential goods.
He added that the BJP leaders were also indulging in religious fanaticism and left no chance to instigate communal disturbances.
"I ask Modi, are you a follower of Gandhi or Godse? Modi should answer this in Nizamabad," KTR said.
Referring specifically to Jagtial, the minister said that the KCR Colony in the town was one of the largest colonies outside Hyderabad with 4,500 2BHK dignity houses. He promised to bring major brands like Pepsi or Coca-Cola to set up their units in the district to benefit the locals.
