BJP leader and Nizamabad MP Dharmapuri Arvind today wrote a letter to Telangana Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar alleging that industrialist Rameshwara Rao's My Home group, a real estate business, had indulged in massive corruption with the help of the state government.
In his letter, he questioned the government for the delays in initiating legal action against the group's illegal mining activities.
"Why has no action been taken against the My Home group for its illegal mining activities yet? It has exploited reserve forest resources in the state. For years, it has been violating the Mining Amendment Act. Yet the government has taken no action against the group, and has instead allocated more land to the business," the MP alleged.
To bolster his allegations, he attached the three notices issued by the union Ministry of Mines to the company along with the judgments of the Supreme Court on similar incidents.
He also demanded the CS respond on the issue at least now.
"I sincerely and assertively suggest that the government not allocate any more land to the group; reply to the notices issued by the Mining Ministry and the Environment, Forest, and Climate Change Ministry; and immediately initiate legal action against the group for its numerous violations," Arvind said.
