Defending the statement of MLC Kavitha that she would slap Nizamabad MP Dharmapuri Arvind with her chappal, Minister for Roads and Buildings Vemula Prashanth Reddy said that there was nothing wrong in levelling such remarks as the MP didn't have any character or morals.
Speaking at a press conference, Reddy, along with MLA Ganesh Bigala, and MLCs V Gangadhar Goud and Rajeshwar Rao, said that Arvind had been advised to refrain from making such disrespectful allegations against Kavitha, and asked to behave in a decent manner while speaking. But he hadn't changed his attitude, and continued to speak using foul language without giving even the minimum respect due to her being a woman, Reddy said.
Also terming Arvind a blatant liar, the minister said that the MP had failed to keep his promise of bringing a turmeric board to Nizamabad, and as a result was not even in a position to visit the Nizamabad Lok Sabha segment now due to fear of facing the wrath of people. And under that frustration, he was levelling baseless remarks against Kavitha for hitting the headlines, Reddy said.
Finding fault with Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan for asking the police officials to send her a report on the alleged vandalism on the residence of Arvind in Hyderabad by TRS activists, the minister asked why the Governor, union minister Kishan Reddy and BJP State unit president Bandi Sanjay had remained silent when Kavitha's residence had been vandalised by BJP activists.
Condemning Bandi terming Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao as a failure CM, Reddy said that he was ready to conduct an open debate on the achievements of KCR and failures of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that under the leadership of Narendra Modi the country's economy had gotten ruined and the Indian rupee had dropped to a record low against the US dollar leading to increases in the prices of all commodities.
