The city police have said that the recent attack on the residence of BJP MP D Arvind in Banjara Hills was reactionary in nature, and that the attack was carried out in protest against the comments made by him against TRS MLC K Kavitha.

The police made this claim this in their remand report.

The report also stated that Arvind made frequent comments against Kavitha causing anger among her supporters, and that he also held press meets to criticise his arch rival in Nizamabad besides carrying out a mud-slinging campaign against her on the social media.

The police said that a total of nine persons had carried out the attack on the residence of the BJP MP, and that two Ph D students were among the attackers.

The police said that the attackers had destroyed some furniture and material kept in the pooja room of Arvind, and that a car parked inside the residence was also attacked.
