TRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha today came down heavily on Nizamabad MP Dharmapuri Arvind for making "personal remarks" against her, saying that she would not hesitate to slap him with her slipper in a chowrasta of Nizamabad town.
Speaking at a press conference, Kavitha said that Arvind was the worst politician she had ever seen in her political life.
"I have been in politics since 2006, but have never indulged in personal remarks against any other leader. I have always spoken only about issues. But for the first time, I am being forced to attack someone personally. Arvind is a characterless person, quite narrow-minded, arrogant, cheap, and just downright dirt. He routinely uses foul language, and has no scruples or morals. He won the Nizamabad Lok Sabha seat just by accident, and due to the support of the Congress," Kavitha said.
"Mind it, Arvind - if you don't stop indulging in personal remarks, I will not hesitate to slap you with my chappal in a chowrasta of Nizamabad town," she added.
Kavitha claimed that the people of Nizamabad were regretting electing Arvind as their MP. She said that the MP had cheated the farmers of the district by failing to keep his promise to bring the Turmeric Board to the district, and that he had never even raised the issue of the Board or in fact any of the problems of Nizamabad district in Parliament.
"He made a promise to bring the Turmeric Board to the State by signing on bond papers for farmers. We are planning to lodge a criminal complaint against him for cheating the people," she added.
She also alleged that Arvind had mentioned his education qualification in the election affidavit wrongly and had submitted fake degrees, and that the TRS was planning to lodge a complaint with the Election Commission of India about that, too.
Responding to reports that the BJP had contacted her to join the party, Kavitha said, "In this country at this point of time, there are multiple proposals given by various people and political parties to various leaders. I am a decent politician, and I want to remain in politics for a long time. Certain proposals have come to my notice from friends of the BJP and its organisations, asking me to join the party. The proposal is called the Eknath Shinde Model. I have vehemently declined such proposals, saying that the Telangana people would not cheat their own State or betray their own parties. The people of this State will become leaders with their own strength, not through backdoor entries."
