By ensuring unprecedented security around NTR Stadium, the venue for main official function, Secretariat and other buildings symbolising power, the Police could ensure the peaceful conduct of official celebrations. Further, the police kept Telangana Political Joint Action Committee chairman Prof M Kodandaram under house arrest at his residence in Tarnaka. Meanwhile, the pro-Telangana parties registered their protests on Thursday, although in a scattered manner. The Telangana Rashtra Samithi leaders hoisted a black flag at the Telangana Bhavan, their party headquarters at Banjara Hills, to mark "Telangana Betrayal Day". The RLD activists also released black baloons in the air. Prof Keshav Rao Jadhava, RLD Working President Mohammad Riyaz and others also attended the protest meet.
