Telangana Political Joint Action Committee chairman Prof. M Kondandaram on Friday said that the Centre's decision to form a separate Telangana state was due to hundreds of people who sacrificed their lives for the cause.
Kondandaram, along with other JAC leaders, paid homage to Telangana martyrs at Gun Park here on Friday. Talking to reporters later, he said, "The achievement of Telangana should be dedicated to the martyrs who laid down their lives for the cause of statehood."
He welcomed the
decision taken by the Union Cabinet to bifurcate Andhra Pradesh to carve out a separate Telangana state. He appealed to the elected representatives, NGOs and people of the Seemandhra region to cooperate in the implementation of the Centre's decision.
Telangana Gazetted Employees Union president Srinivas Goud said, "People from the Seemandhra region need not fear anything, as everyone can live peacefully in the Telangana state." He said that the formation of Telangana cannot be dubbed as injustice to the Seemandhra region.
