Balwinder Singh was a software engineer working in Oracle in Bengaluru at a handsome salary of Rs 18 lakhs per annum. Four days ago, Singh came to his native place from Bengaluru. On Tuesday morning, after a heated argument, he attacked his father Avataar Singh and Sathvanth Kaur with a sword, and then came out of his house abusing his parents and broke the window panes of a mini-van parked there. He also stabbed an auto driver Srimannarayana who was passing by.
Singh also attacked a constable M M Ali and local people who tried to stop him. That led to Circle Inspector Vijayapartha Saradhi finally shooting him in his waist. The police then rushed him to a nearby hospital where he later died.
According to family sources, Singh had achieved good marks in Class X and stood sixth in the entire Karimnagar district in EAMCET. As he was a meritorious student, he got a job in Oracle at Bengaluru and was drawing an annual salary of Rs 18 lakh. He reportedly appeared for the civil services examinations recently and could not fare well. With this, he entered a deep depression leading to his going berserk on Tuesday.
