1 Crore, Job For Family Of Nizamabad Constable
The Telangana government announced assistance for the family of Excise Constable Gajula Soumya, who died after an assault by ganja traffickers in Nizamabad.

The Telangana government today announced financial assistance for the family of Excise Constable Gajula Soumya (25), who suffered severe injuries during an alleged assault by ganja traffickers in Nizamabad and succumbed to her injuries at the Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) in Hyderabad on Saturday night.
Excise Minister Jupally Krishna Rao said that the family would receive an ex-gratia of Rs 1 crore, along with a government job for one eligible family member.
He expressed deep sorrow over the passing away of Soumya, who died while performing her duty, and assured her family members that the government would extend comprehensive support to them. He also said that excise department personnel on duty would be equipped with weapons hereon for their protection.
For the unversed, on January 23, in Nizamabad, Soumya displayed exceptional bravery while attempting to arrest a gang involved in the illegal transportation of ganja. During the operation, the traffickers allegedly rammed their vehicle into her, causing critical injuries that required treatment at NIMS. Despite medical efforts, she succumbed to her injuries and passed away in the hospital a week later.
