TDP MLA Revanth Reddy Denied Entry Into Assembly
Security personnel did not allow suspended TDP legislator A Revanth Reddy to enter the lobbies of the Telangana Assembly during the budget session today.
Police officials and security personnel did not allow suspended TDP legislator A Revanth Reddy to enter the lobbies of the Telangana Assembly during the budget session on Thursday.
The security officials stopped Revanth Reddy at the main entrance of the lobbies when he tried to enter and meet Speaker S Madhusudhana Chary.
This prompted BJP floor leader G Kishan Reddy, who was passing by at the time, to express displeasure at the security officials. Kishan Reddy pulled them up seeking to know whether Revanth Reddy was a criminal who was to be stopped from entering the lobbies.
"This is not the way the police officials should behave with the legislators in the Assembly," Kishan Reddy fumed.
However, the security officials said that they had stopped the TDP member keeping in mind an order from the Chief Marshal of the Assembly.
On March 12, the Telangana Assembly Speaker had suspended Revanth Reddy and S Venkata Veeraiah till the end of the budget session for trying to disrupt the Governor's speech to the joint session, after Assembly Affairs Minister T Harish Rao had moved the motion. Keeping this in view, the security personnel did not allow the TDP member to enter the lobbies.
Revanth Reddy expressed his anguish at the security officials for stopping him, and asked them whether they had any papers related to the suspension.
