Nothing New In Governor's Speech: Telangana TDP, BJP
Hyderabad | 10th March 2017
The Telangana TDP said that there was nothing new in the Governor's speech in the Assembly today.
Speaking to the media, party working president for Telangana A Revanth Reddy termed the speech dismal, and said that there was no mention of the problems prevailing in the State in it. Instead, the speech sounded like propaganda for the government.
He pointed out as an example that though the Governor in his speech during last year's budget session had mentioned the TRS government's promises regarding double-bedroom housing for the poor, reservations for the minorities, and SC and ST welfare, in this year's budget there was no mention of any of those, proving that the government had not done anything in those areas in the last year.
He also said that the government, by not convening a state cabinet meeting for giving approval for the Governor's speech, had made a mockery of the system.
The BJP, too, commented that the Governor's speech was like old wine in a new bottle. There was no clarity in the speech about employment, and no details of how the State government was spending the funds received from the Centre, Chintala Ramachandra Reddy said.
