TDP MLAs on Monday made it clear that they did not disrespect the National Anthem, and that they were ready to apologise a thousand times if any of them had done so unintentionally.
Speaking to media persons at Assembly's Media Point after their suspension from the State Legislative Assembly for the entire session on Monday, TDP MLA A Revanth Reddy said that he was ready to apologise one thousand times, in all forms, if he had caused any disrespect to the National Anthem, and that the patriotism of the TDP members could not be suspected.
He alleged that the TRS members were trying to project the TDP MLAs in a negative manner when their suspension from the House was purely for political reasons.
Tendering an apology with folded hands, TDLP leader Errabelli Dayakar Rao said that the TDP MLAs would never disrespect the National Anthem. He said that they were protesting in the House over the behaviour of the state government and of Speaker S Madhusudan Chary who had not even allowed a discussion on the attack on one of the MLAs.
