Sultan Bazar People Okay With Metro Design: T-Cong

Congress Legislature Party deputy leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Saturday claimed that the businessmen of Sultan Bazar had never demanded any change in the alignment of the Hyderabad Metro Rail project.

Speaking to media persons in the Assembly premises, Vikramarka claimed that he possessed a letter given by the businessman of Sultan Bazar stating that their business interests would not be hurt with the original design of the Metro Rail project.

He said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had still been pressurizing the HMR authorities to change the alignment at Sultan Bazar for some hidden reasons, and demanded that KCR explain the real reasons behind his insistence on a change in the Metro Rail alignments at different places.

He said that except for increasing the project cost by nearly Rs 3,000 crores, the change in alignment would serve no purpose.

Vikramarka threatened that the Congress would launch a massive agitation if any changes were made to the Metro Rail alignment. (INN)
