Congress Suspicious Of Rs 2.25 Lakh Crores For Irrigation
CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Sunday said that he had never seen a Rs 2.25 lakh crore outlay for construction of irrigation projects in any State.
CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Sunday said that he had never seen a Rs 2.25 lakh crore outlay for construction of irrigation projects in any State.
Talking to mediapersons in the Assembly lobby in an informal manner, Vikramarka said that he would visit all the irrigation projects under construction along with a technical team if the State government did not take his party's concerns into consideration.
He also alleged that the State government didn't take up any discussion on the public's problems in the first Assembly session that ended today, and demanded that it initiate such discussions. He said that his party would corner the government in the upcoming session on these issues.
Commenting on the suspicions that there would be defections of Congress MLAs to the TRS, Vikramarka said he didn't think that the Chief Minister, who promised to run the House in a peaceful manner, would resort to any kind of wooing of Opposition MLAs.
Speaking about his relationship with TPCC president Uttam Kumar Reddy, Vikramarka said that he had a very good equation with the former, and that they would fight against the State government together in a constructive manner. He said that he had also taken the blessings of senior Congress Leader K Jana Reddy on his appointment as the CLP leader. He said that he would hold a CLP meeting every 15 days.
The Congress is the largest opposition party in the Telangana Assembly, and so the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader also becomes the Leader Of Opposition, a position which has cabinet rank.
