Chief Minister Revanth Reddy today said that the Telangana government had decided to organise Sathya Sai Baba's 100th birth anniversary celebrations in a grand manner.
He said that the government was also ready to support the Sathya Sai Baba Trust in expanding its services across Telangana, and that it was important to remember Baba's services to the people, which won the hearts of crores of devotees.
Participating in the centenary celebrations of Sathya Sai Baba in Puttaparthi, Andhra Pradesh, the Chief Minister said that it was a rare opportunity and honour for him to be part of the celebrations, and extended greetings to everyone.
"Baba continues to inspire millions even after his heavenly departure. Sathya Sai provided free education from KG to PG, often competing with governments in service delivery. He is regarded as God for offering free medical treatment to the poor, and his Trust quenched the thirst of the people by solving the drinking water problem in the Palamuru region," Reddy said.
He said that providing education, medical care and drinking water had been the hallmark of the Trust's service to the needy, and praised it for its continuing services in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, and in 140 countries.
The CM recalled Sathya Sai Baba's teachings, which emphasised that helping human beings was the greatest service. He said that dignitaries from across the world were participating in the celebrations, reflecting the sanctity and reverence for the saint.
