On the occasion of Vijaya Dasami (Dasara) tomorrow, Governor Jishnu Dev Verma today extended his warm greetings to the people of Telangana.
In a statement, the Governor said that the Navaratri festival renewed the spirit of joy and celebration, with its central theme - the triumph of good over evil - holding timeless relevance.
"Truth alone triumphs is our national motto. While celebrating this festival, we must collectively strive to fight against all evils, including diseases, environmental hazards and external threats, and work towards creating a greener and healthier nation," the Governor said.
He also prayed that the Divine Mother may shower her choicest blessings on the people during the festive celebrations.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and BRS president K Chandrashekar Rao too extended greetings to the people of Telangana, wishing them prosperity and happiness.
CM Reddy, in his message, described Dussehra as a festival that united diverse communities while symbolizing the eternal victory of good over evil. He spoke about Telangana's unique traditions, including Shami Puja, Alai Balai gatherings and reverence for the Palapitta bird, which enriched the cultural fabric of the State. He said that he was praying to Goddess Durga for uninterrupted development in Telangana, and joy and prosperity for all citizens.
KCR, in his message, said that the festival of Dasara, celebrated alongside Bathukamma and Devi Sharan Navaratris in Telangana, signified the triumph of righteousness and guided people from defeat to victory. He recalled that the former BRS government had declared the Jammi tree as the State tree and the Palapitta as the State bird in recognition of the festival's cultural significance. He added that the spirit of Vijaya Dashami had inspired the Telangana movement, and expressed hope that Goddess Durga's blessings would lead people towards success and well-being.
