Minister for Secondary Education K Parthasarathi on Saturday released the 10th class Secondary School Certificate (SSC) results at 11:30am. About 13 lakhs students had appeared for the SSC examinations this year.
He announced that the state had recorded a record-breaking overall pass percentage of 83.1.
Girls out-performed the boys, with 83.51% of the girls who appeared for their SSC exams having passed. Boys, on the other hand, recorded a pass percentage of 82.1.
On comparing results district-wise, one would notice that the Karimnagar district tops the performance level, with a pass percentage of 91.57, while Hyderabad occupies the last position with 72.76% of its students having passed the SSC examinations.
Also, 88 government colleges boast of a pass percentage of 100, in what is seen as a severe blow to private educational institutions that declare that they provide better education than private organisations. The
intermediate results that were released last month also showed that government colleges outperformed the private ones.
Parthasaradhi announced that supplementary examinations would be conducted on June 18th, and June 8th has been set as the final date for students to clear any fees due.
