The South Central Railway conducted a 48 hrs-long special check against ticketless travel from 28th February to the 1st of March at the Vikarabad Railway Station under the direct supervision of the Assistant Commercial Manager, Secunderabad Division.
On an average, 12 express trains and 8 passengers trains were checked per day.
As many as 45 ticket checking staff members, and 29 Railway Protection Force personnel were involved in the checks.
A total of 376 people were apprehended. Out of these, 193 people were found travelling without tickets and 64 people were found travelling under suspicious circumstances, and there were 119 cases of un-booked luggage.
An amount of Rs. 1,07,800 was charged and extracted towards penalty. (INN)
