The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) today appealed to devotees visiting Tirumala not to approach brokers or middlemen for darshan or accommodation.
The TTD strongly advised people not to rely on unauthorised websites or middlemen, and to book only through the official TTD website (https://ttdevasthanams.ap.gov.in) or the TTD mobile app using Aadhaar details.
Recently, one Y Vishwanath from Hyderabad lodged a complaint stating that a Vanam Nataraj Narendra Kumar and a K S Nataraj Sharma had collected Rs 90,000 from him claiming they could arrange VIP break darshan tickets.
According to the complaint, the accused promised VIP break darshan tickets for 12 members on August 16, 2024, and collected the money. However, despite repeated requests and phone calls, they neither provided the tickets nor refunded the amount.
During investigation, TTD Vigilance found that the accused had been cheating several people in Hyderabad and surrounding areas in a similar manner. About 12 police cases have already been registered against them.
The TTD clarified that Narendra Kumar and Nataraj Sharma were not TTD employees and had no connection whatsoever with the body.
The TTD also said that it frequently received complaints from devotees regarding fake darshan ticket bookings.
To raise awareness about fraudulent activities by middlemen, the TTD is conducting campaigns across various media platforms.
If devotees suspect any fraudulent activities, they are requested to contact TTD Vigilance officials on 0877-2263828, where officers are available round-the-clock. For assistance, devotees may also contact the TTD toll-free number 155257.
