L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Limited (L&TMRHL) today announced a 10% discount on the recently revised fares across all fare zones in each of the three metro corridors, effective from May 24.
The fare revision had been made based on recommendations from the Fare Fixation Committee (FFC), and was part of a broader plan to ensure the long-term sustainability of metro operations and maintenance, according to a press release.
K V B Reddy, Managing Director & CEO of L&TMRHL, said, "Although the fare revision was essential for the sustainability of the Metro operations, we recognise the importance of easing the financial burden on our valued passengers. In response to our passengers' feedback and for their well-being, we have decided to offer a 10% discount on the revised fares across all fare zones in the three Metro corridors, effective May 24."
Passengers have been encouraged to visit the official website at www.ltmetro.com for detailed information on the revised fares and further updates.
For the unversed, the L&TMRHL's price hike was heavily criticised by the Congress' political opponents the BJP and the BRS.
