Hyderabad | 3rd April 2021
A local MIM leader, 40-year-old Asad Khan, was hacked to death on a busy road in broad daylight in Hyderabad's Old City area on April 1.
Reports say that Khan, who was himself not known to be a law-abiding citizen, was attacked by a group of assailants while travelling on his two-wheeler. The assailants attacked him with sharp weapons near a public hall on Shastripuram Road in the Vattapally area. After stabbing him, the assailants fled from the spot. Though he was rushed to Osmania Hospital immediately, he was declared brought dead.
Following the incident, the police had said that they suspected that the killing was a "revenge murder", committed, in all likelihood, by the family members of one Amjad Ali Khan, who was murdered by Asad Khan and his associates in 2018.
The Shamshabad police today arrested six persons in connection with the grisly murder of the MIM leader.
Revealing the details about the arrest, Shamshabad DCP Prakash Reddy said that the six accused had attacked the victim with sickles. He added that the son of Amjad Ali Khan, Yaseen Khan, was the main accused in the incident.
"Yaseen Khan had been plotting to avenge his father's death for some time now. The accused executed his plans with the help of his friends, Mohammed Adnan, Abdul Ali, Mohammed Mahboob, Mohammed Saddam, Mohammed Shoaib and a minor youth on April 1. They have been identified with evidence gathered from the scene of the crime," the DCP said.
Revealing more details, he said that the accused had hit the deceased MIM leader's bike with their auto-rickshaw after which three of the accused hacked him to death with their sickles.
