The Centre had repeatedly failed to allot the necessary funds to the SC, ST, BC and minority communities, and had dumped them onto the states, they claimed.

Telangana ministers Srinivas Goud, Srinivas Yadav and Gangula Kamalakar today asserted that a debate should be taken up at national level on the proposal for a new Constitution made by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.
They were speaking after a function to give documents of "self-respect bhavans" to leaders of the BC communities at a program at the MCRHRD.
Claiming that it was the BJP that was in fact against the backward communities, they said that the union budget failed to address the needs of the 40 crore SC population, which had gotten just Rs 12,800 crore.
The Centre had repeatedly failed to allot the necessary funds to the SC, ST, BC and minority communities, and had dumped their responsibility onto the states, they claimed, and said that KCR had sought a new Constitution to right such issues.
75 years of independence had failed to address the issues of the above communities, as also power and water issues. To address these problems there was a need for a new Constitution for the country, and that was what the Chief Minister proposed, they said.
There was no wrong done or insult to anyone, and Telangana was achieved following Ambedkar's ideals, the ministers said. The Constitution had anyway already gotten amended many times, and the nation should take up a debate on KCR's suggestion by involving a cross-section of people, intellectuals, writers and the youth, they added.
They also slammed the BJP leaders for making charges against the Chief Minister for his comments on the budget which had failed to give the funds needed for the various oppressed communities. KCR was a model CM who did not stop the state's welfare schemes even during the pandemic when the state had suffered huge financial losses, they claimed.
