Minister for Animal Husbandry Talasani Srinivas Yadav today said that the BRS was planning to celebrate the birthday of its founder and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on a grand scale, and that the celebrations would be held in division-wise across the GHMC limits.
The CM's birthday falls on February 17.
Speaking to the media, Yadav said that special prayers would be held at temples, mosques and churches by the local MLAs, and that many other programs would be organised to mark the occasion.
The GHMC Mayor would perform special prayers at the Peddamma temple in Jubilee Hills while the Deputy Mayor would offer prayers at the Ganesh temple in Secunderabad, he said. A Chandi Yagam, an Ayush Homam and other rituals would be performed at the Balkampet temple, and he himself would take part in special programs to be held at Thrill City on Necklace Road, he added.
The minister also criticised Union Minister Kishan Reddy for levelling baseless remarks against the State government, and challenged him to a debate on the development of the Secunderabad Lok Sabha Constituency which he (Reddy) represented.
