Surabhi Vani Devi, the TRS' candidate for the upcoming MLC elections in the graduate constituency of Hyderabad-Rangareddy-Mahabubnagar, today appealed to the graduates and the employees of the state capital to cast their votes carefully, and to support the TRS to ensure the development of the three districts.
Interacting with the morning walkers at KBR Park, near Banjara Hills, she said that if the graduates and the educated youth voted for her, she would dedicate herself to addressing their issues during her tenure.
The candidate also spoke to several eminent personalities, including famed producer Dil Raju, and appealed to them to extend their support to her in the elections.
Claiming that the incumbent MLC of the constituency, BJP's N Ramchander Rao, had not done much for the welfare of the graduates and the employees, she said, "Due to my experience in the field of education, I will be able to bring meaningful change that will better the condition and prospects of both the groups across the three districts. My insight into the issues being faced by the employees, and into those plaguing the education sector, will help me do so. I hope you will all give me the chance to serve you."
Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav, who was also present during the interaction, said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was not only paying homage to former Prime Minister late P V Narasimha Rao by fielding his daughter, Vani Devi, as the TRS' candidate, but had picked her because she was "a humble, hardworking individual" who was sure to be a good leader to the people.
He added that it was the candidates of the ruling party who would be best equipped to fight for the people, and not the candidates of the Opposition, and claimed that the former would be able to usher in change more easily.
Apart from Yadav, MLA Danam Nagender and several other TRS leaders were also present at the meeting.
The ruling party been
heavily invested in campaigning for the Hyderabad-Rangareddy-Mahabubnagar seat after it failed to win the seat in three previous elections.
