Accusing theatre owners of selling tickets of the newly released
Shadow in black, fans of its lead actor Venkatesh went into a frenzy on Friday morning in Tirupati, damaging seats and furniture of 3 cinema halls.
Violent protests were reported from Bhuma, Jagath and Vikyath theaters in the town, where the film was being screened.
The "fans", who had reportedly been waiting in queue for tickets to the movie since the morning, lost temper after they were told by the persons at the ticket counter that the tickets were sold out.
Agitated crowds pelted stones, tore cut-outs, and even barged into a theatre and damaged its seats and furniture.
On obtaining information, police rushed to the theatres, and the angry fans were pacified with the assurance that the tickets would be sold to them.
Shadow, starring Venkatesh, Tapsee and Srikanth, and directed by Meher Ramesh, hit theaters across the world on Friday. (INN)
