Telangana IT, Industries & Commerce Minister Sridhar Babu today announced that by partnering with Toho Koki Seisakusho Ltd, the State government was enabling access to Japanese expertise, and offering Indian businesses and researchers the opportunity to engage in the global semiconductor supply chain.
This collaboration would establish India's first Chemical Mechanical Polishing (CMP) Pad Technologies Hub in Hyderabad, he said.
The new hub, valued at Rs 8 crore, will be set up within T-Works - India's largest prototyping centre and manufacturing knowledge partner, built by the Telangana government - and will function as an open-access facility for learning, demonstrations and collaboration.
The minister said that the centre would serve as a unique platform for students, researchers, startups and global enterprises to experience world-class CMP technologies in India for the very first time.
"This partnership is yet another step in Telangana's commitment to creating global linkages for India's semiconductor mission," he added.
Takuya Nishimura, Global Business Head of Toho Koki, said, "We are delighted to partner with T-Works and contribute to the spirit of Make in India. CMP pad technology is a vital part of semiconductor manufacturing, and through this collaboration we aim to empower Indian companies to build their own capabilities."
T-Works CEO Joginder Tanikella represented the Telangana government during the MoU signing program.
