With all the hype before the release of highly anticipated Telugu movie Bahubali 2 resulting in ticket rates hiked in the state, the AP and Telangana governments, the Bahubali team and the film's distributors have set the ticket rates.
In single screens, the Rs 70 ticket will be sold for Rs 100, and the Rs 90 ticket for Rs 150. Multiplex tickets will be sold for Rs 200.
These rates will be only for the first week. The Commercial Taxes department has asked all theatre owners to collect the notified rates of ticket only, and pay entertainment tax on the sale appropriately. It also asked the general public to inform it of any violations by any theatre owners, by calling the toll-free number of the department, 1800-425-3787.
The canceled benefit shows are being compensated for with the additional shows permitted each day - the movie has been allowed upto five screenings per theatre per day in Telangana, and six in Andhra Pradesh.
The movie's world premiere, being organized by Karan Johar, will be at Mumbai tomorrow, with celebrities from across the country expected to attend.
