The World Book of Records (WBR), headquartered in London and present in the UK, USA, Canada, Switzerland, India and the UAE, has announced that actor Nandamuri Balakrishna would be included in its Gold Edition.
The recognition marks his 50-year career in Indian cinema.
Balakrishna, son of the late actor and politician Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR), has acted in numerous films in Telugu cinema and has been noted for his longevity in the industry. He has earlier received the Padma Bhushan, and a National Award for his film
Bhagavanth Kesari.
Balakrishna has also been elected three times as MLA from the Hindupur constituency in Andhra Pradesh. He also serves as Chairman of the Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute in Hyderabad.
In a statement, WBR CEO Santosh Shukla described Balakrishna as an inspiration for his contributions to cinema and society. He said that Balakrishna's career reflected a legacy connecting generations, and acknowledged his work in healthcare and public service.
The formal presentation of the recognition is scheduled to take place in Hyderabad on August 30.
