The Secretariat of Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar has asked the MPs from the Seemandhra region to appear in person, in connection with their resignations, submitted in protest against the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.
Sources say that the Lok Sabha MPs - Rayapati Sambasiva Rao, K Bapiraju, Magunta Subbarami Reddy, Harsh Kumar, K Narayana Rao and Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy have been asked to appear in person. These MPs resigned after the Congress Working Committee made an announcement in favour of a separate Telangana state formation.
It may be mentioned that Congress MP from Vijayawada Lagadapati Rajagopal has approached the Delhi court, seeking its intervention in the acceptance of his resignation. The case is posted for hearing on October 22. (INN)
