Congress MP from Vijayawada Lagadapati Rajagopal made it clear today that he was firm on resigning from his post.
Rajagopal said that the Congress MPs belonging to the Seemandhra region had submitted their resignations protesting the Centre's decision to bifurcate the state. He said that the MPs would not continue in their posts until the Centre reverses its decision.
"The MPs are trying hard to keep the state united," he said.
Lagadapati said that the MPs were making vigorous attempts to get their resignations accepted.
Describing the Telangana decision as hasty, he claimed that a majority of people in Telangana region itself were against the state's division.
He said that the Congress party would be washed out from the Seemandhra region if it bifurcated the state. He also announced that he would disclose the secret deals between the Centre and other parties (over the Telangana issue), after the acceptance of his resignation. (INN)
