BJP leader and Secunderabad MP G Kishan Reddy, who just 6 months backed faced an embarrassing defeat in the Assembly elections by losing his Amberpet MLA seat, has done much better by becoming a union cabinet minister.
BJP national president Amit Shah rang up Reddy and gave the good news to him. He also asked Reddy to come to Delhi to take oath as Union minister in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's cabinet.
The news of his promotion to union minister was confirmed by Reddy himself. He took to his official Twitter handle to make the announcement to his supporters and followers.
He said that the blessings of PM Modi and the love and affection of the people of Secunderabad were responsible for his promotion to union minister.
Reddy won the Secunderabad Lok Sabha seat by a huge majority by defeating his nearest rival from the TRS, Talasani Sai Kiran Yadav. He had represented the Amberpet Assembly constituency as its MLA earlier.
