Union Minister Kishan Reddy today criticised the Telangana government, saying that the attention being lavished on the ongoing Miss World beauty pageant was not being extended to preserving and enhancing the beauty of Hyderabad.
As part of his visit to the Secunderabad Lok Sabha constituency, Reddy toured the Himayat Nagar division and Baggikhana Basti, located in the Khairatabad Assembly segment. He inspected the newly constructed committee hall and later interacted with residents to understand their local issues.
Speaking to media persons later, he urged Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to focus on the holistic development of Hyderabad. He alleged that the CM seemed to have forgotten that Hyderabad was more than just a high-tech city - it also included many neglected areas of the Old City.
He also criticized Congress leaders for allegedly insulting Indian soldiers with their remarks. "The whole world knows about Operation Sindoor, but it's unfortunate that Congress leaders appear ignorant about it," he said.
"Criticise Prime Minister Modi or us - we can tolerate that. But do not insult our soldiers and officers. That is tantamount to insulting the nation," he added.
Reddy recalled that former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and his daughter Kavitha had, in the past, demanded proof of the surgical strikes. He said that even though regular updates had been provided on Operation Sindoor, Congress leaders too similarly continued to demand evidence.
He emphasised that the Indian armed forces had clearly stated that not a single aircraft was lost during Operation Sindoor, and expressed anger that the Congress was politicising a sensitive military operation.
