KTR Slams Congress Over Alleged Sale Of Group-I Posts

The BRS leader and former minister accused Congress of betraying the aspirations of thousands of unemployed youth by allegedly selling Group-I posts.
Hyderabad | 11th September 2025
BRS Working President K T Rama Rao today launched a scathing attack on the Congress government, accusing it of betraying the aspirations of thousands of unemployed youth in Telangana by allegedly selling Group-I posts.

He railed against ministers and the Chief Minister's Office, alleging that the State government had auctioned off jobs in the open market, dashing the hopes of lakhs of aspirants who spent years preparing for competitive examinations, investing their valuable time and their parents' hard-earned resources. He demanded that the government respond immediately to the serious charges of corruption being raised by Group-I candidates, and the constitution of a judicial commission to investigate the large-scale "malpractice" and expose those who sold government jobs.

Recalling the High Court's earlier directions, KTR also insisted that the Group-I preliminary examination be reconducted transparently, leaving no scope for irregularities. He said that only a thorough judicial inquiry and a transparent re-exam could deliver justice to the unemployed youth and prevent such scandals from recurring in the future.

He also called for a special Assembly session to debate the "scam" and hold the Congress government accountable.

KTR also demanded that the government recognise the severity of the unemployment crisis and demonstrate its sincerity in resolving it by taking concrete steps, instead of deceiving the youth with hollow assurances.
