BRS State General Secretary R S Praveen Kumar today alleged that a massive Rs 1,700 crore scam had taken place in the recruitment for Group-I posts in Telangana.
He accused Congress leaders of demanding up to Rs 3 crore from each aspirant to secure jobs, turning the recruitment process into a money-making scheme.
Addressing a party workers' meeting in Shabad mandal of the Chevella constituency, Kumar said, "A Congress minister himself admitted that Rs 30 lakh would be collected from employees during transfers, while Group-I aspirants were asked to pay Rs 3 crore each. This is nothing short of a betrayal of unemployed youth."
He demanded the immediate resignation of the Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC) Chairman and its members, holding them responsible for the alleged irregularities.
Kumar also criticised Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, accusing him of cheating unemployed youth. "Revanth Reddy campaigned through a bus yatra assuring jobs, but after coming to power, he has deceived the very youth who trusted him," he said.
Turning to farmers' issues, Kumar alleged that Congress and BJP leaders were hoarding urea stocks and selling them in the black market for Rs 700 per bag, while the official price was only Rs 275. He also alleged corruption in Gurukuls, claiming that the quantity of cloth provided had been reduced from 60 grams to 42 grams while its price was increased. "The Congress has become a party of scams," he alleged.
Former minister Sabitha Indra Reddy was also present. The meeting was held under the leadership of Patnam Avinash Reddy.
