BC Welfare Minister Basavaraju Saraiah has signed 3 files including 1 releasing Rs. 296 crore for BC students towards their scholarships following the Supreme Court's ruling that at least 25% of the amount should be sanctioned.
The balance will be released later.
In the second file, the government has increased the monthly emoluments of the directors of the study circles in the 3 regions from Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 25,000.
In the third file, the government has sanctioned 300 BC hostels for students with as many wardens to take care of them.
Later, the minister clarified to a question that he would continue Telangana forum in Rayalaseema region as it had nothing to do with his ministry.
He also thanked the Congress party President Sonia Gandhi and the Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy for providing him a chance to serve the poor in his present capacity.
