APNGOs Prepare For Massive Shutdown
The AP NGOs Association says that it would bring the AP administration to a halt from the midnight of August 12, in protest against Telangana statehood.
Asking all elected representatives from Andhra and Rayalaseema regions to resign by August 12, the Andhra Pradesh NGOs Association announced that it would bring the administration to a halt from the midnight of August 12, demanding that the Centre not go ahead with the state's bifurcation.
Addressing a press conference after the Association's meeting in Vijayawada, APNGOs president Ashok Babu said that all political leaders, belonging to all political parties, should quit their posts by August 12.
He said that the APNGOs would go on a strike from August 12, and that all services, including emergency services, would be boycotted.
He said that employees from the Seemandhra region were feeling insecure after the announcement of the formation of a separate Telangana state.
Ashok Babu stated that no political party or leader has a right to ask Seemandhra employees or people to leave Hyderabad. He added that such moves would be countered by the APNGOs.
He also said that a public meeting would be organised in Hyderabad by August 15. (INN)
