Telugu Desam president N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday demanded that the centre remove Union Telecom Minister A Raja immediately for his alleged role in the irregularities regarding the allocation of 2G spectrum.
Talking to media persons at the NTR Trust Bhavan, the TDP chief demanded that the government conduct a thorough probe into allocation of 2G spectrum as thousands of crores of rupees of public money have been misappropriated in the scam.
Demanding the removal of the Union Minister Raja from the post, Naidu urged the government to register criminal cases against everyone who was involved in the scam.
The TDP chief said that corruption had touched its nadir in the country after Congress-led UPA-II assumed charge.
The former chief minister wondered why the Prime Minister was not initiating any action, though the Controller and Auditor General had criticized the handling of the 2G spectrum allocation.
Slamming the centre for the rising corruption, the TDP leader asked why the government was not conducting probes into the Commonwealth games and Adarsh Society scam.
Naidu demanded discussion on the scams at the national level.
Even Congress president Sonia Gandhi had failed to respond to the massive corruption and dubious APIIC-Emaar Properties land dealings in the state, the TDP chief charged.
