The ACB court today extended the remand of TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu, who has been arrested in the Skill Development Corporation scam case, till October 5.
It also rejected a plea by CID officials to extend the police custody of Naidu by two more days.
The two-day police custody of Naidu ended on Sunday, and the CID approached the ACB court seeking an extension of the custody by more days. CID officials gave a detailed explanation for that, but Naidu's lawyers argued opposing the extension of the custody. After hearing the arguments of both the parties, the ACB court ruled only that Naidu's judicial remand was being extended till October 5.
During the police custody, Naidu was questioned by a team of CID officials for 12 hours on Sunday. It is learnt that 120 questions were asked by the CID officers to Naidu on 30 topics, especially on the diversion of funds through shell companies and on why funds had to be allocated, by showing him documents. It is being reported that Naidu answered every question asked by the officials. CID DSP Dhananjayudu led the investigation.
Naidu was produced virtually by the CID before the ACB court, after a medical examination.
