A shocking incident of violence involving a Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) conductor has come to light in Sangareddy district, prompting strict departmental and legal action.
The incident occurred this morning at around 8:30 am during a routine inspection by an Enforcement Squad on the Zaheerabad-Narayankhed route. Officials found that conductor Devsoth Vasanth had collected Rs 20 from a passenger without issuing a ticket.
When inspectors attempted to issue a charge memo, the conductor allegedly created a ruckus, incited passengers, and physically assaulted the officials using his slipper.
He also snatched official records in an attempt to disrupt the proceedings.
Two inspecting officials, including in-charge TTIs Peddadoddi Yesaiah and V Prakash, sustained injuries in the attack.
Following a complaint at the Raikode police station, a case has been registered under Section 121(1) of the BNS against the conductor and others involved.
TGSRTC Managing Director Y Nagireddy condemned the incident, and said that strict action would be taken against anyone attacking staff on duty. He also said that legal penalties were inevitable for those who committed such acts against personnel performing their duties, and urged all employees to work in an atmosphere of mutual goodwill.
